Chief Growth Officer
Cathy Calhoun is Chief Growth Officer for IPG DXTRA, overseeing collaboration efforts across brands and disciplines to bring more innovative solutions to IPG DXTRA clients and prospects.
She brings decades of integration experience for leading global brands to this role. Most recently she was Chief Client Officer for Weber Shandwick where she developed and implemented a strategic plan for the firm to become more client-centric and helped drive organic growth among the company’s top global clients.
Cathy has extensive experience in brand marketing across categories for Mars, Inc., ALDI, Harley-Davidson, Unilever and L.L. Bean. She has deep category marketing experience for the fluid milk, tart cherries and pork industries. She prides herself on fostering decades-long relationships with clients, always evolving the work.
She has been named the “Chicago PR Professional of the Year” by the Public Relations Society of America; chosen as one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ “Forty Under Forty” and was named one of the “Forty PR Stars Under Forty” by PR Week magazine. The campaigns she has worked on have won numerous awards.
Her community service activities focus on education for disadvantaged children, eliminating pet homelessness and hunger relief. She is the board chair for Namaste Charter School on the south side of Chicago, one of the first health and wellness-based schools in the country.
Cathy earned a B.F.A. in journalism from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Her daughter, Sophie, is her constant inspiration.
